On Sunday, May 24, Cala Montgó will once again become one of the most special venues for open water swimming on the Costa Brava. The SNL Cala Montgó 2026 will be the inaugural event of the SwimNoLimits Cup 2026, an event designed for swimmers who want to start the season with a different, exciting, and unforgettable experience.
Registrations will be open only until Wednesday, May 20 at 3:00 PM, so this is the last opportunity to be part of one of the most unique crossings on the SwimNoLimits calendar.
A unique crossing in Cala Montgó
The SNL Cala Montgó is not just another crossing. It is an experience of sea, nature, and personal challenge in one of the most spectacular corners of the Costa Brava.
The route combines some of the elements that make this environment special: Cala Montgó, the area of Illa Mateua, the cliffs, the seabed, the magical posidonia meadows, and a passage that makes this event a truly different experience: swimming literally inside a cliff, passing through a cave with a vault of over 20 meters high.
Depending on the chosen distance, swimmers will also be able to pass over the visible remains of the Cotentin A-701, an old sunken ship that is part of the underwater landscape of the area and adds even more character to this crossing.
Three distances to choose from: 1,500 m, 3,000 m, and 5,000 m
The event offers three distances so that each swimmer can choose the challenge that best fits their level, preparation, and desire to experience the sea:
1.500 m
An ideal distance for those who want to enjoy Cala Montgó in a short format, with an accessible yet special challenge.
3.000 m
A balanced option for experienced swimmers looking for a more complete course in open water.
5.000 m
The long distance for those who want to experience the crossing with all its intensity and discover some of the most iconic points of the route.
All distances maintain the essence of SwimNoLimits: sea, community, organization, and an experience designed from swimmer to swimmer.
The first event of the SNL Cup 2026
Cala Montgó will be the starting point of the SwimNoLimits Cup 2026, which will continue with SNL Platja d’Aro on July 4 and conclude with the SNL Experience on the weekend of October 3 and 4.
Starting the Cup in Cala Montgó means kicking off the season in a unique natural setting, with an event that combines sports challenge, underwater beauty, and the community atmosphere that defines SwimNoLimits.
