This Sunday, May 24th, we are launching the SwimNoLimits Cup 2026 in a very special place:Cala Montgó. A unique environment, with the sea, Costa Brava, and that energy that makes every crossing much more than just swimming from one point to another.
And precisely because we want all participants to enjoy it to the fullest, we want to share an important recommendation regarding the event.todas las personas participantes puedan disfrutarlo al máximo, queremos compartir una recomendación importante de cara a la prueba.
The current water temperature in Cala Montgó is17.1 °Cand the forecast indicates it could rise, at most, to approximately17.5 °C. This is about2 degrees lower than last yearand also below what was initially expected.
For this reason, the organizationrecommends the use of wetsuits.
Enjoying the sea without getting cold
Cala Montgó deserves to be enjoyed. The route, the environment, the start, the finish, the feeling of swimming in open water… all of it is part of the SwimNoLimits experience.
But one thing is clear:we are not going to stop enjoying the sea and this unique environment just because it's cold..
With a lower water temperature than usual, a wetsuit can make a big difference. It helps to better maintain body temperature, provides more comfort during the crossing, and allows you to focus on what’s important: swimming, living the experience, and enjoying the day safely.
This is not about creating alarm, but about conveying a clear and responsible recommendation. At these temperatures, the risk of cold and hypothermia can increase, especially depending on the distance, the pace of each person, and the time spent in the water.
The SwimNoLimits regulations already include the recommendation to use neoprene to prevent hypothermia. Participation without neoprene is still allowed under the responsibility of each participant.
Zone3, official partner of SwimNoLimits
For those considering swimming with neoprene or reviewing their gear before the event, we remind you thatZone3 is the official partner of SwimNoLimits.
Their wetsuits are specifically designed for open water swimming and triathlon, aiming to providethermal insulation, buoyancy, and freedom of movement. On days with colder than usual water, having the right wetsuit can help enhance the experience and maintain better sensations during the course.
Beyond performance, in this case, we are mainly talking about comfort and safety: arriving in the water with the right gear can make the difference between suffering from the cold or being able to focus on the experience.
